The Senior Manager - General Services and Projects is responsible for the supervision of all facility projects and their execution according to plan, budget and contract specifications. He/she is also responsible for the management of suppliers and subcontractors, negotiation of contracts, mitigation of risks, and safety and security on project sites.
Strategic
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Facilities Management strategy in alignment with HCT’s system-wide strategy.
- Support with the development and implementation of Facilities Management policies, procedures and processes and monitor compliance of subordinates.
- Contribute to the development of the annual budget of the General Services and Projects function.
Operational
- Define and plan Facilities Management projects including scope of work, project team and timeline in coordination with respective functions.
- Develop and control Facilities projects’ budgets, in line with HCT’s strategy and the Facilities Management strategic direction.
- Define procedures for project quality reviews, improving, innovating and developing project management processes when and where necessary.
- Coordinate continually with various internal and external stakeholders for the development of project plans and work closely with them to determine requirements, project objectives and other elements.
- Provide advice for campus planning and design improvements.
- Oversee projects from start to finish to ensure compliance with all governmental regulations, building codes and HCT policies, procedures and processes.
- Manage a team of contractors and consultants to monitor that they are delivering Facilities Management projects on time, on schedule and within budget.
- Align Facilities Management projects’ objectives and stakeholder expectations, monitor progress against project plans and take actions where progress deviates from agreed targets during the course of the project.
People Management
- Provide professional development support and perform periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates based on HCT's Performance Management System.
- Support with the development of workforce plans for the Facilities Management function and work with the Human Resources function on succession planning for key positions in General Services and Projects.
- Contribute to the identification of learning and development needs of employees within the General Services and Projects function in collaboration with the Human Resources function.
- Coach and mentor subordinates on a regular basis.
- Contribute in an effective and efficient manner to the recruitment and development of UAE Nationals.
