Position Summary

The Associate Dean of Business provides leadership in the quality and development of Faculty of Business programs, manages day to day operations of the Faculty of Business as directed by the Executive Dean and supports the instructors and students to ensure student success and excellence in teaching. The incumbent works with the Executive Dean and other members of senior management to promote high academic standards in the design, delivery and assessment of Business curricular programs across the HCT system. The Associate Dean develops mechanisms and processes to ensure that programs are current and responsive to the needs of the UAE community, leads international and professional accreditation efforts and oversees the curriculum development of the Business programs. The incumbent promotes and facilitates collaboration with other Faculties in the offering of Business General Studies courses, articulation of Business programs and that students are well served by the Faculty and Program Chairs.

Requirements
  • A PhD in a relevant discipline is required
  • A minimum of 10 years of related work experience, with at least 5 years spent in a supervisory/leadership role
  • At least 3 years of relevant teaching/training experience at a tertiary level
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience in developing course curriculum and assessment tools as per accreditation and international standards
  • A high degree of computer literacy and demonstrated ability to integrate technology into the learning environment and teaching methodology
  • Current knowledge of industry practices, trends and issues
  • Experience in budget planning and implementation
  • Highly developed organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong management or leadership skills as exhibited by experience in effectively leading a team and/or chairing committees
  • Superior interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to form professional relationships at all levels the organization and with appropriate external stakeholders
  • Overseas work experience within a multi-cultural environment would be advantageous
