Position Summary

The Manager of Faculty Affairs and Applied Research will assist the Dean of Faculty Affairs and Applied Research in overseeing, developing, interpreting, and ensuring the correct implementation of policies and procedures that impact faculty members. In addition, he/she assists in determining HCT-wide schedules for submission of all recommendations for appointment and alerts academic divisions and program chairs to deadlines and procedures and reviews all recommendations for appropriateness and credentials before processing. In addition, this position helps to manage the data and information that cover working status and activities of faculty members and assists in submitting activity reports to DVC-AA. The Manager of Faculty Affairs and Applied Research also supports the Dean of Faculty Affairs and Applied Research in devising, implementing, and monitoring the system-wide applied research agenda and in providing effective leadership in developing innovative research approaches towards building partnerships with industry and communities. This position also helps to ensure the ongoing development of applied research and scholarly capabilities and activities across HCT, in addition to administering and allocating HCT's research funds in accordance to prevailing rules and regulations.

In support of Emiratization, HCT may exercise flexibility with the experience or education requirement in order to recruit UAE National candidates who show potential for success in the role.

  • A Master's degree in a relevant discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related work experience, with at least 2 years spent in a supervisory/leadership role
  • At least 5 years of teaching/training experience
  • Experience as in a managerial position
  • A high degree of computer literacy and demonstrated ability to integrate technology into the learning environment
  • Proficiency in using Quantitative and Qualitative data analysis software such as SPSS, NVIVO or similar applications
  • Current knowledge of industry practices, trends and issues
  • Highly developed organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong management or leadership skills as exhibited by experience in effectively leading a team and/or chairing committees
  • Superior interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to form professional relationships at all levels the organization and with appropriate external stakeholders
