Position Summary

The Learning Centre and Educational Technology Supervisor leads staff within the Library, the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and Educational Technology in developing and delivering services to enhance and support the teaching and learning objectives of the college. The position is responsible for the development and management of the college library, the CTL and educational technology services. It directs all capabilities and resources towards enhancing student learning. The position ensures college participation in the development of relevant system-wide policies and procedures and represents the college at local and national forums.

In support of Emiratization, HCT may exercise flexibility with the experience or education requirement in order to recruit UAE National candidates who show potential for success in the role.

  • A Master's Degree in Library and Information Science, Educational Technology, or other related discipline
  • A minimum of 10 years of related work experience, with at least 3 years spent in a supervisory/leadership role managing library, learning support or educational technology services.
  • Experience in planning and advancing the use of educational technologies both inside and outside the classroom
  • Demonstrated expertise in integrating technology into curriculum using student-centered learning principles and practices
  • Extensive knowledge of information, learning resource requirements and applications in an educational environment.
  • Knowledge of educational methodologies related to curriculum development and technology
  • A high degree of computer literacy
  • Current knowledge of industry practices, trends and issues
  • Superior interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to form professional relationships at all levels within the organization and with appropriate external stakeholders
  • Highly developed organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong management or leadership skills as exhibited by experience in effectively leading a team and/or chairing committees
  • Experience in budget planning and implementation would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems is desirable
  • Experience in blended/online learning is desirable
  • Overseas work experience within a multi-cultural environment would be advantageous
