Position Summary

Emirati Studies Faculty provide effective instruction in Bachelor level Arabic & Emirati Studies courses. Curriculum is taught in Arabic within a student-centric learning environment that fosters respect for students, their culture, and their traditions. Faculty play an important role in assisting with the development and preservation of system-wide and directorate-specific policies, and are viewed as active participants in academic and extra-curricular events at the College and within the community.

Requirements

In support of Emiratization, HCT may exercise flexibility with the experience or education requirement in order to recruit UAE National candidates who show potential for success in the role.

  • A Master's degree in Social Sciences or a relevant field is required
  • A minimum of 3 years of Emirati Culture Studies teaching/training experience in a secondary school environment or higher
  • Applicable relevant industry experience is preferred
  • Faculty should have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the history, geography and economy of the UAE; its demographic, cultural and religious diversity; and its place in, and relations with, the Gulf region.
  • Must be able to provide instruction at various levels within the program areas
  • Possesses specialist knowledge and the ability to operate specialist programs and equipment
  • Have effective presentation skills, both theoretical and practical
  • Have current knowledge of industry practices, trends and issues
  • Native Arabic Fluency is essential
