The Counsellor is responsible to support students in understanding with personal issues to enhance the overall student experience on campus and enabling them to become more effective inside and outside the campus through individual and/or group counselling. The incumbent is also responsible to support students in making appropriate choices and decisions.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with students.
- Schedule appointments with students in need as and when needed.
- Provide counselling for students on personal matters; this includes, but is not limited to, stress, anxiety, depression and eating disorders.
- Support students to cope with personal issues in a timely, effective and efficient manner.
- Support students in decision-making regarding ways forward.
- Plan and run workshops for students for group counselling on a periodic basis.
- Liaise with faculty members to discuss student cases as and when needed.
- Develop and maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive student database; maintain confidentiality of records.
- Refer students to appropriate campus resources for assistance as and when needed (e.g. Academic Advisor, Career Coach, etc.)
