Position Summary

The HCT is following the international academic standards in classifying faculty according to their qualification & experience in one of the two following ranks:

• Lecturer
• Assistant Professor

Faculty members are responsible for providing effective instruction in Aviation Maintenance Engineering Technology / Airframe and Aeroengines. By using various learning methodologies that support acquiring knowledge and skill, curriculum is taught to second language learners within a student-centric learning environment that fosters respect for students, their culture, and traditions and prepares students to contribute to the positive development of the UAE. Faculty members play an important role in assisting with the development and preservation of system-wide and directorate-specific policies, and are viewed as active participants in academic and extra-curricular events at the College and within the community.

Requirements

• PhD in an Aviation related field preferred
• An applicable Airframe and Aeroengines / Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) license or equivalent. License should be current or valid for renewal
 • A minimum of 3 years of aviation industry teaching/training experience in the Avionics areas including instruction/examination knowledge at different levels (A and B2 license level) or equivalent
• At least 5 years of relevant aviation industrial experience
• Practical ability in aircraft systems (inspecting/testing/troubleshooting)
• Has completed an Instructional Techniques course with a thorough understanding of training procedures equivalent to EASA or GCAA CAR 147 & 66 requirements
• Must be able to provide instruction at various levels within the program areas
• Experience in developing course curriculum as per accreditation and international standards
• Effective presentation skills, both theoretical and practical
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with people at all levels of the organization
• A high degree of computer literacy and demonstrated ability to integrate technology into the learning environment and teaching methodology
• Good hands-on practical knowledge
• Current knowledge of industry practices, trends and issues
• Evidence of a personal professional development plan with membership to an internationally recognized professional association being preferred
• The ability to function as a team player within a multi-cultural work environment
• Overseas teaching/training experience to non-native English speakers is desirable
