JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Junior Webmaster
DEPARTMENT/DIRECTORATE: IT
 
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Junior Webmaster develops and maintains content for the Higher Colleges of Technology's (HCT) websites, digital online presence and social media assets which include content, visual design, and creation of multimedia elements. The incumbent contributes to the HCT's online strategy, and the creation of innovative and informative designs, concepts and strategies, which adhere to the HCT's brand and identity standards
 
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

In support of Emiratization, HCT may exercise flexibility with the experience or education requirement in order to recruit UAE National candidates who show potential for success in the role.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline is required (journalism, communications, digital communication, graphics, interactive media or a related field)
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of three years progressive work experience managing and editing website content and social media channels
  • Ability to write and edit SEO-optimized web content in Arabic and English
  • Demonstrated experience with web content management systems like WordPress and SharePoint
  • Ability to create and manage digital campaigns and e-newsletters
  • Experience in web and graphic design, typography, illustration and animation
  • Experience in web authoring and building interactive content, animation and graphics tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Fireworks, Acrobat and SharePoint Designer
  • Experience in HTML and CSS
  • Experience in Multimedia and video creation, encoding, streaming and editing tools such as Adobe Premier and FinalCut Pro, Adobe Flash, Camtasia and Adobe Captivate
  • Possess up-to-date knowledge of current trends in web and social media trends in industry and education
  • A high degree of computer literacy and demonstrated ability to integrate technology in the workplace
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with people at all levels of the organization
  • Highly developed organizational skills are required
  • The ability to work effectively as a team member in a multi-cultural environment
  • A demonstrated willingness to engage in professional development activities in order to develop and improve new and current skills, and to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization
LANGUAGE
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is essential
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develops written, graphics, video content and other assets for new and existing websites and other digital platforms
  • Updates and monitors day-to-day social media channels of the HCT and ensures consistency and relevancy of content published online
  • Participates in managing the digital campaigns and e-newsletters
  • Works closely with stakeholders from colleges and different departments to develop content for their respective websites
  • Coordinates with website editors to ensure consistency an accuracy of the content
  • Assists in system administration of content management systems when required
  • Contributes to the development of the HCT by monitoring programs and identifying areas for improvement; by observing and implementing College and system-wide policies and procedures; and by participating in extra-curricular activities and community events
  • Travels to other HCT colleges to attend meetings, workshops and conferences as required
  • Develops an awareness of and respect for the customs and cultures of HCT students and employees
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor
