Position Summary

Job Objective:

The Senior Specialist – TWT is responsible for supporting in the development, coordination, and delivery, of professional development programmes and activities for all HCT faculty in the area of education technology. He /she ensures that all trainees (faculty) are receiving the correct training, experience and mentorship to adequately use education technologies in an education environment to teach students and meet the needs of HCT.

Main Responsibilities:

Design professional development content and course guides related to education technologies.
Coach faculty on using education technologies to enhance the learning experience of students. This includes coaching faculty on the use of Blackboard and mobile devices in an education environment, creation of online assessments, design of online courses and selection of appropriate education technologies to deliver courses, instructional design, etc.
Act as a moderator and facilitator for online training courses, contributing in discussion boards, communicating with participants, answering queries, and marking assessments.
Work closely with faculty to identify and support in the development of new strategies for embedding learning technologies within their practice.
Act as a contact point for staff needing advice and support on all matters related to teaching with technology, and provide guidance to faculty on developing course content which is compatible with education technologies.
Create promotional material and participate in the delivery of presentations and webinars, to promote professional development opportunities.
Coordinate with Specialist – PD coordinator to collect data/information on faculty regarding areas they need or would like to improve.
Develop progress reports on the status of professional development programmes as well as overall professional development statistics.
Keep abreast of emerging technologies as well as innovative and best practices in teaching with technology (e.g., use of Tablets in the classroom, developing flexible learning environments).
 

Requirements

 Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required e.g. Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Educational Technology, Education, Applied Learning.
• Full English proficiency is required.
• Advanced computer literacy is required e.g. MS Office, Blackboard, PD Portal.

Experience:

• Minimum of four years of relevant work experience in TWT with a focus on education technologies.
