Position Summary

The Receptionist provides efficient and effective operation of the switchboard at a busy reception desk. As the first point of contact for visitors, the incumbent interacts with college staff and the general public either in person or over the telephone. The Receptionist also performs general clerical duties such as filing and typing correspondence using MS Office programs.

 

Requirements

In support of Emiratization, HCT may exercise flexibility with the experience or education requirement in order to recruit UAE National candidates who show potential for success in the role.

  • Completion of a 1 year post-secondary program (e.g. - Diploma/Certificate) is required, with a 2 year Higher Diploma seen as desirable
  • A minimum 2 years of related work experience, preferably within an educational institution
  • Experience with switchboard operations and secretarial services is required
  • Strong customer service skills, coupled with a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy and confidentiality
  • Familiarity with operating various forms of office equipment, including switchboard systems, fax machines and photocopiers
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills are required
  • Competency in use of software programs including MS Office Suite
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Fluency in written and spoken Arabic may be required depending on the college directorate
