Position Summary

Faculty members are responsible for providing effective instruction in Emirati Studies. By using various learning methodologies that support a learning by doing philosophy, curriculum is taught in Arabic within a student-centric learning environment that fosters respect for students, their culture, and traditions. Faculty members play an important role in assisting with the development and preservation of system-wide and directorate-specific policies, and are viewed as active participants in academic and extra-curricular events at the College and within the community.

Requirements

In support of Emiratization, HCT may exercise flexibility with the experience or education requirement in order to recruit UAE National candidates who show potential for success in the role.

 

  • A PhD. degree in Social Sciences or a relevant field is required
  • A minimum of 3 years of teaching/training in Arabic or Emirati Culture Studies or related field
  • Faculty should have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the history, geography and economy of the UAE; its demographic, cultural and religious diversity; and its place in, and relations with, the Gulf region
  • Effective presentation skills, both theoretical and practical
  • Native Arabic Fluency is essential. Fluency in oral and written English is also essential
