The IT Help Desk Officer functions as part of the IT Services team and is responsible for providing timely front line IT support to end users within the college. This position plays a key role in ensuring that the college computing environment is maintained for the benefit of students, faculty and college administration. The Officer ensures that technical staff are deployed in a timely manner and serves as a point of escalation when needed. With a strong emphasis on customer service, the incumbent follows up with technical staff and end users to ensure that IT issues are resolved in a timely fashion. The IT Help Desk Officer provides IT and AV support in the classroom and completes routine updates on college equipment.

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other relevant discipline
CCNA and MCSE certifications are required
* A minimum 3 years of relevant experience providing technical support within a Windows based environment
Strong customer service skills, coupled with a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy
Troubleshooting experience with various forms of computers and other PC peripherals such as printers and AV equipment
Strong verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with people at all levels of the organization
The ability to work effectively as part of a team in a multi-cultural environment and to cope with pressure in a positive manner while working to deadlines within a busy and demanding environment
A demonstrated willingness to engage in professional development activities in order to develop and improve new and current skills, and to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization
