Position Summary

The Senior Work Placement Officer establishes and maintains partnerships with government, semi-government and private sector employers to identify, assess and secure placement opportunities for students undertaking work experience as part of curriculum. The incumbent works closely with the Employer Relations Coordinator to design and implement a comprehensive and integrated plan for students and employers before, during, and after work placement activities. The Senior Officer also works closely with employers, academic management, and faculty to ensure the effective implementation of work placement plans.

Requirements

In support of Emiratization, HCT may exercise flexibility with the experience or education requirement in order to recruit UAE National candidates who show potential for success in the role.

 

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline is required
  • A relevant post-secondary qualification (eg - certificate or diploma) may be considered for UAE Nationals with previous work experience
  • A minimum 3 years of related experience
  • Previous experience in a role networking and developing relationships with external stakeholders
  • A demonstrated willingness to engage in professional development activities in order to develop and improve new and current skills, and to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization
  • Holds a valid UAE driving license
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
  • Coordinates work placement activities and maintains data within the work experience and employer databases
  • Assists in the development and delivery of an annual work placement activities calendar
  • Provides support with respect to any work placement issue; assists with researching and investigating issues to point of resolution
  • Collaborates with the Work Placement Coordinator to identify and implement continuous process improvements
  • Attends networking events, conferences and seminars in order to promote the college and network with members of industry
  • Builds relationships with employers for the purpose of assigning students to work experience placements and facilitating closer links with industry
  • Arranges interviews with students on behalf of employers and ensures that employers receive sufficient information and documents regarding student candidates
  • Provides work experience orientations to program participants and distributes information packs to students, mentors and employers prior to placements
  • Participates in the development and distribution of work placement promotional material
  • Maintains and provides statistical analysis and reports regarding employers' assessments and feedback from students on work placement activities
  • Assists in coordinating relevant activities and events as required
  • Contributes to the development of the HCT by observing and implementing College and system-wide policies and procedures, and by participating in extra-curricular activities and community events
  • Travels to other HCT colleges to attend meetings, workshops and conferences as required
