The Library and Independent Learning Centre (ILC) Officer supports teaching and learning objectives of the college through the effective delivery of Library and Learning Centre services to students and faculty. The Officer is responsible for managing daily operations within one or more areas of the Library and for carrying out a variety of technical and administrative functions.

In support of Emiratization, HCT may exercise flexibility with the experience or education requirement in order to recruit UAE National candidates who show potential for success in the role.

• A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline is required (e.g. - Education, English, Educational Technology, Library and Information Science)
• An EFL teaching qualification is desirable
• A minimum 3 years of progressive work experience in an educational setting
• Previous experience working within a Library, ILC or self-access centre
• Strong customer service orientation
• A high degree of computer literacy and demonstrated ability to integrate technology in the workplace
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with people at all levels of the organization
• Well-developed organizational skills
• The ability to work effectively as a team member in a multi-cultural environment and to cope with pressure in a positive manner
• A demonstrated willingness to engage in professional development activities in order to develop and improve new and current skills, and to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization
• Experience working with mobile technology (e.g. - tablets) and related authoring environment is desirable
• Previous experience with integrated library systems and learning management systems (e.g. - Blackboard) is desirable
