Position Summary

The Facilities Officer oversees the maintenance of all current college facilities and is actively involved in the planning, design and construction of new facilities and retrofit projects. The incumbent actively participates in the RFP process and monitors onsite construction projects to ensure end user satisfaction, quality control, and compliance with contract requirements. The Facilities Officer closely monitors college facilities to schedule maintenance and to spot and correct facility deficiencies within the warranty period. This role plays a pivotal role in ensuring that campus facilities are in compliance with safety codes and with internal security and safety protocol.

Requirements

In support of Emiratization, HCT may exercise flexibility with the experience or education requirement in order to recruit UAE National candidates who show potential for success in the role.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required
  • Professional Engineering license would be an added advantage
  • A minimum 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably within an educational institution
  • Broad knowledge of all phases of commercial building design, construction and maintenance
  • Site supervision experience in Civil and Electromechanical works
  • Experience drafting construction proposals and knowledge of the RFP process
  • Working knowledge of local and international codes and design standards
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD is essential
  • Good knowledge of HVAC and Electromechanical installations
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is desirable but not a requirement
