Position Summary

The Senior Systems Administrator functions as part of Central Services Technology and Infrastructure Services (CS-ITS) team and is primarily responsible for administering, managing, maintaining and implementing Microsoft Enterprise Systems hosted out of Central Services. The incumbent is also part of the implementation team that carries out projects related to centrally hosted applications within Central Services. The position contributes to continuously improving the existing Systems-related infrastructure to help ensure CS-ITS achieve its strategic objectives and to improve the overall effectiveness of the HCT administration process. This also includes the design, planning, documentation, implementation, management and support of data centre equipment.

Requirements
  • A relevant three year Diploma in Data Communications, Electronics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, with a Bachelor's Degree being preferred
  • Current IT industry certifications in Microsoft Technologies
  • Certification in SAN Technology and ITIL.
  •  A minimum of 3 years' work experience in managing Large Enterprise Wide Systems based Infrastructure and Operations, candidates without a Bachelor's Degree will be expected to demonstrate a minimum of 5 years' of progressive work experience
  • Extensive hands-on experience administering Microsoft technology namely Active Directory 2008, Exchange 2010 / 2013, Hyper-V, SharePoint, SQL, File and Print Servers and Clustering Technologies
  • Design, Plan and Implement Microsoft Technologies like SCCM, SCOM, and OCS/LYNC
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for administrative tasks
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, internet technology, standards and routing protocol
  • Configuration and operational knowledge and expertise of San, Tape Library and Back Up Systems
  • Knowledge of Blade, Rack Mounted Systems, Systems security and Authentication
  • Previous experience with systems security and authentication, anti-virus/spyware and anti-spam solutions
  • User support experience with good understanding of Service Desk Operations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated competency to communicate complex technical items appropriately with internal clients
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment in order to complete projects simultaneously to deadlines
  • Highly developed organizational skills are required
  • The ability to work effectively as a team member in a multi-cultural environment
  • A demonstrated willingness to engage in professional development activities in order to develop and improve new and current skills, and to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization
  • Fluency in Arabic is a must
