Position Summary

The Facilities Manager supports the system through the provision of professional services related to Facilities matters, including the planning and construction of new facilities, retrofits to existing facilities, and routine civil and electro-mechanical maintenance. As the primary liaison between contractors and HCT authorities, the incumbent works to ensure the smooth and effective handover on all facility projects. The Facilities Supervisor advises on facilities-related matters at both an operational and strategic level. The Facilities Supervisor works closely with FAD staff, contractors and internal staff.

Requirements

In support of Emiratization, HCT may exercise flexibility with the experience or education requirement in order to recruit UAE National candidates who show potential for success in the role.

  • A Master's Degree specializing in Architecture or Civil Engineering
  • Must maintain a professionally-recognized Engineering, Architectural or related license or membership
  • A minimum 10 years of progressive work experience out of which minimum three years of supervisory role, preferably in facilities provision and maintenance
  • Ability to prepare construction proposals from inception stage
  • Experience working with comprehensive master plan projects is desirable
  • Broad based knowledge of all phases of commercial building design, codes of practice, standards, construction, operation and maintenance
  • Demonstrated practical site supervision experience required
  • Experience working with contractors and government agencies in the Middle East is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with people at all levels of the organization
  • A high degree of computer literacy and demonstrated ability to integrate technology in the workplace
  • Highly developed organizational, analytical and problem solving skills are required
  • The ability to work effectively as a team member in a multi-cultural environment
  • A demonstrated willingness to engage in professional development activities in order to develop and improve new and current skills, and to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization
