Position Summary

The Library Officer supports effective delivery of Library and Learning Centre services to students and faculty. The Officer is responsible for managing daily operations within one or more areas of the Library and for carrying out a variety of technical and administrative functions.

Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline is required (e.g. - Education, English, Educational Technology, Library and Information Science)
  • A minimum 3 years of progressive work experience in an educational setting
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • A high degree of computer literacy and demonstrated ability to integrate technology in the workplace
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with people at all levels of the organization
  • Well-developed organizational skills
  • The ability to work effectively as a team member in a multi-cultural environment and to cope with pressure in a positive manner
  • A demonstrated willingness to engage in professional development activities in order to develop and improve new and current skills, and to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization
  • Experience working with mobile technology (e.g. - tablets) and related authoring environment is desirable
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
  • Knowledge of Arabic is desirable but not a requirement
