Position Summary

The Library Assistant is responsible for supporting daily Library operations and services provided to HCT students and faculty. The incumbent is based at the Library front desk and provides face-to-face services to individuals and group of students as well as administrative assistance to Library staff.

 

 

Requirements
  • Completion of a 1 year Diploma or Certificate in Library Technology with a 2 year Higher Diploma seen as desirable 
  • A minimum 2 years of related experience, preferably within an educational environment 
  • Strong customer service skills, coupled with a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy and confidentiality
  • Competency in use of software programs including MS Office Suite
  • Ability to communicate and build good relationships with students, faculty and administrators
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
